Using these services, locals and visitors alike can cross and explore the city easily and at any time of day. In the capital city of Gran Canaria there are two companies running regular bus, or guagua, services. One of these companies is called Guaguas Municipales S.A. and belongs to the local council. The other is Global. The Guaguas company takes care of transport within the city, 24 hours a day, whilst Global connects the capital to the suburbs and the rest of the island.
