Public transport in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is modern and of a high quality, as is befitting of any large city. Using these services, locals and visitors alike can cross and explore the city easily and at any time of day. From the city it is also possible to reach the rest of the archipelago thanks to the port or, if you prefer to fly, from the airport, situated just 18 kilometres away.
Guaguas
In the capital city of Gran Canaria there are two companies running regular bus, or guagua, services. One of these companies is called Guaguas Municipales S.A. and belongs to the local council. The other is Global. The Guaguas company takes care of transport within the city, 24 hours a day, whilst Global connects the capital to the suburbs and the rest of the island.
